The Flash has seen several shifts in its production. Having originally been scheduled for release in 2018, the film has seen its fair share of shakeups behind the scenes, losing not one but for directors, in Seth Graham-Smith, Rick Famuyiwa, and Spider-Man: Homecoming writers turned directors John Francis-Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. It’s safe to say the road to getting this character off the ground and running has been a long and tumultuous one. The out of place cameo in Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman, as well as the lackluster performance of the  theatrical Justice League did not make matters any easier.

It wasn’t until IT Chapter 1 & 2 Director, Andi Muschietti, stepped in hot off his box office successes to helm the speedster film in late 2019. Details were in fact vague on the story the film would tell, or if it would follow a storyline from the comics. It had been speculated that the film may tackle the Flashpoint storyline written by Geoff Johns, but it as all but confirmed at DC’s Fandome event. It was confirmed by director Andi Muschietti himself that the film would tackle some version of the flashpoint story which was adapted into animation, kickstarting DC’s most recent bout of animated films, that have just had a reset on them much like the flash’s production history. Fans were excited to see visual confirmation of Michael Keaton’s Batman fighting alongside Ezra Miller’s Flash in Muschetti revealed concept art, as well as The Hollywood Reporter, reporting on the return of Ben Affleck’s Batman for the film that plans to skate the multiverse until the Scarlet Speedster fixes the timeline.

It’s now being reported by The Illuminerdi that Warner Brothers and DC are seeking to add Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman to the already exciting cast. Wonder Woman’s inclusion is being described as a “small supporting role”. This casting makes sense because Diana Prince is apart of a massive battle in the comics between Atlanteans and Amazons. It’s not yet confirmed if Jason Momoa will reprise his role as Aquaman. Its safe to say that Ezra’s The Flash will run into a version or two of the heroes he’s already worked with before.

Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman will next be seen in Wonder Woman 1984 which is still set to be released in December, and once again in The Snyder Cut of Justice League in 2021 on HBOMax.
