After a few months have passed since voice-actor Mike Henry vacated the role of Cleveland Brown, the series has cast Arif Zahir as a replacement.

Following Family Guy getting renewed for two more seasons, 19 and 20, the series needed a new Cleveland brown. Mike Henry left the role due to feeling racially insensitive voicing one of the show’s few black characters. Immediately after hearing of Henry’s exit, Zahir, who impersonates Cleveland Brown on YouTube, took to TikTok to offer up his talents, and even tagged Henry, hoping it would catch his eye.

Clearly that worked, as Series Creator and Executive Producer announced Zahir’s casting Friday, September 25th. Most interesting are Henry’s comments “Arif’s vocal talent is obvious, but his understanding of Cleveland and his respect for the character give me confidence that he is in the right hands”. If the originator of the role is satisfied and plans to work with Arif, this bodes well for the future of Cleveland Brown and his continued appearances in the series.
