One of FX’s most popular TV series, American Horror Story, has been renewed for three more seasons set to premiere on the network in the coming years.

Despite creator Ryan Murphy’s exit to Netflix, it seems his most popular series will continue on the network. Originally the show was ordered for one more season, bringing the total to 10 but with the shows continued rave reviews during Season 9, titled, AHS: 1984, the network decided to give the show three more. With this announcement, the show will do Seasons 11, 12 and 13 and could potentially end on the thirteenth season. Season 10, which has yet to be titled, is set to debut later this year.

Murphy made the jump to Netflix after Disney’s buyout of Fox Studios and the show’s future remained up in the air when he left. The show’s creator was afraid his creative freedom would not be allowed to happen but nonetheless, the show will continue on. The show will continue under Murphy and co-creator Brad Falchuck along with Murphy bouncing back and forth between FX and Netflix as his first film through them will debut on the streaming service later this year, titled Prom.

AHS has consistently been one of the network’s highest-rated programs and the layout of the show allows for a different setting, different characters, and themes each season allowing the show to remain fresh.

Murphy also created American Crime Story for FX. The first season was set during the trial of famed football player O.J. Simpson, titled The People v. O.J. Simpson. During that season the show got stellar reviews and the network put out another, The Assassination of Gianni Versace, which didn’t share the same reviews but was still a great watch. The show’s third season, simply titled Impeachment, will focus on the impeachment and trial of President Bill Clinton and will debut later this year.

Personally, I’m glad FX renewed the show for three more seasons. It’s a great watch and perfect to binge as every season except the most recent, AHS: 1984, is available on Netflix. How do you feel about this announcement? Are you excited to see what FX will put out with these next three seasons after Season 10? Season 10 and Season 3 of AHS and ACS, respectively, are set to debut on FX later this year.
