Perhaps, what will give me nightmares is the fact that I am reporting this at 2:52 am in my timezone. Don Mancini just announced the pilot information of his Chucky series yesterday while the Child’s Play films marathoned at SyFy. Just last week, Fiona Dourif was announced to reprise her role from Curse of… and Cult of Chucky as Nica Pierce in the show. Today, more casting news has been revealed.

Details

Lexa Doig will be playing Bree Webber. The official description for the character is as follows:

Married to Logan (played by Devon Sawa), she is the aunt of Jake Webber (Zackary Arthur), one of the teenage leads. […] Bree is held to an unrealistic standard — by her husband and herself, which leads her to keep a dark secret from her family.

The Canadian actress joins the other currently announced cast members, who were revealed to enter the series earlier last month. She has myriad science-fiction series in her filmography, including Friday the 13th film Jason X (2002) and The CW’s Arrow. In the DC Comics series, Doig portrayed villain Talia al Ghul in Seasons 5, 7, and 8. The Child’s Play franchise director himself has taken to Twitter to welcome her with open arms. Barbara Alyn Woods has also been cast in the show as the series’ mayor.

Other Information

The fact that the series has entered production and has many announcements in the past month since its being greenlit early last year is a great thing! I’m glad we’re getting more news about the series, and hopefully, we continue to get updated until its release.

Chucky is set to air later this fall on the USA and SYFY television channels!
