Don Cheadle‘s Colonel James Rhodes/War Machine will appear Falcon and the Winter Soldier next month on Disney+.

During an interview with BroBible’s Post Credit Podcast, Cheadle opened up about his experience playing the character. This is when he broke the news of War Machine’s appearance in the upcoming Marvel project. Read Cheadle’s comment below:

“That’s some of the fun of the MCU, that we all get to show up in each other’s stories, and there are ways that we’re cross-platforming these characters, and they become storylines, sometimes, in the movies. And then these storylines in the movies become storylines in the shows. It’s really a fun and interesting and, by all imagination, completely open-ended — this can go anywhere. It’s great, I can’t wait to get in the room with the writers and figure out how all those things [connecting Armor Wars to the MCU] happen. You know, Rhodey shows up in Winter Soldier and Falcon’s show. So, it can be a lot.” via BroBible

Up until Disney’s Investor Day late last year, fans of Cheadle’s War Machine were left only to speculate as to where the character has wound up in the post-Endgame MCU. With the announcement of Armor Wars, however, we know we will see Rhodey once more. Now, the question remains of where does the series fall on the timeline in relation to other MCU projects, such as Marvel’s Ironheart series, now confirmed to be in development. With a little luck, fans will get an early tease of what War Machine has been getting up to in Falcon and the Winter Soldier in just a month and a half.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier will focus on the struggle of who becomes the next Captain America. The official synopsis reads:

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities-and their patience-in Marvel Studios’ “he Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

The series stars Mackie, Stan, and Daniel Bruhl (Baron Zemo). They are joined by Emily VanCamp (Sharon Carter) Wyatt Russell (Jon Walker/U.S. Agent), and Georges St-Pierre (Batroc the Leaper). Falcon and the Winter Soldier is directed by Kari Skogland.
