DC Fandome:’Stargirl’ Panel Recap

After a phenomenal first season Stargirl has brought us some news with this hiatus for their DC FanDome panel where they discussed season 1 and what’s to come for season 2.

“Dr Mid-Nite Trivia”

• The cast played a game of trivia on facts that Dr Mid-Nite would know about them
• Geoff Johns: Likes Big Boy restaurants (Pat’s Big Boy keychain in the first scene), likes to cook (Pat Cooking), likes classic cars (Cars in Stargirl), Originally had Pat pilot the S.T.R.I.P.E. robot but after hearing another thing already did that he changed the concept where Pat was physically driving the robot,and Cindy in the comics’ parents were originally going to be the villain Kobra.
• Brec Bassinger: Gold medalist in math, gluten-free baker, dreams of traveling to New Zealand, addicated to coffee, and both born in May 1999
• Amy Smart: Introvert, loves to read, ballerina for 10 years (“Going into an episode?”-remarked Geoff), has a doll, certified yoga instructor, and Barbara is named after Geoff’s real life mother
• Yvette Monreal: Went apartment shopping with Brec and Anjelicka, took a pic of wildcat comic in 2014, learned about Celiac disease from cast, always on her phone (as a kid wanted to be an editor), and watches reality TV with Brec
• Cameron Gellman: plans to visit every national park, loved superheroes as a kid (always led to injuries), favorite superhero is Tarzan, wants to make animal documentaries, and never worked with anyone else with Celiac disease before (Brec)
• Anjelika Washington: Lived with Brec during Season 1, knows every word to ‘Hamilton’, colors her hair, loves to eat with cast
• Lea Thompson: Loves the cast and crew, ballet dance, nickname “mini-pork”, drives a tractor, loves animals, and loves to paint, sing & direct

Behind the Scenes

• Brec had to learn how to act with the staff having it’s own personality.
• Cameron Gellman’s first time fighting something that wasn’t actually there was with his fight against Grundy (Marked by a big green pickle with a sad face on it).
• Geoff would be curious to see a team-up between the old JSA vs the New JSA rather then the teams fighting each other.
• The cast would sneak into Neil Jackson and Christopher Baker’s apartment to use their pool because their’s did not have any.
• The cast invented a game called “Water Pool Ball”
• Yvette wants them to have a dance sequence at some point in the series and Geoff joked “that’s a great season 9 idea”.
• Anjelika wants to see more love stories for the characters on the show.
• Yvette wants to see where Yolanda’s deal with her family as we didn’t see that much in season 1.
• Cameron is interested in having another scene with his father even if it’s all just a dream or a ghost.
• Yvette and Anjelika are happy to be representing both the Latina and African American communities with them feeling like it’s an honor to be the representation for them.
• Geoff dodges ever doing an on-screen cameo in the series.

Teases For The Future

• We will see more of Grundy and Cameron Gellman knows what that story is.
• Eclipso will be very important going into season 2.
• Hootie will definitely be seen at some point teasing “there’s always a chance”.
• Amy wants Barbara to have a superpower and Geoff slightly teased that he’s not at liberty to say anything.
• Brec would like to see more Stargirl Vs Shiv and Geoff confirms that’s definitely happening.
• Geoff teases we will see more of the “pink pen” in season 2

 

Stargirl season 2 is slated to premiere sometime in 2021.
