The coronavirus pandemic has been stressful times for everyone, but in all of that, we have some good news!

According to Deadline, Ludwig Göransson will return to Disney +’s The Mandalorian Season 2 to compose its musical score. He says, “We started [the second season] a couple of months ago, and I’m extremely excited. [The series creator] Jon [Favreau]’s taking the story into places that I didn’t know existed, and I think it’s so fun.” He also cites Star Wars legend John Williams as the awe-inspiring figure, to whom Göransson follows in the space opera franchise as a composer. He says:

What John Williams created for Star Wars was probably the best film music out there—at least, the most known film music. I remember watching the movies as a kid and the impact the visuals and the music had with me. I can still remember that feeling, and it was that feeling that I wanted to try to recreate.

Göransson has also spoken highly of having worked with filmmakers Favreau and Christopher Nolan. Last year, he had won a few Grammy Awards and an Academy Award for his work on the Black Panther score as well as music with rapper-musician Childish Gambino, who also appeared in the Disney/Marvel film Spider-Man: Homecoming under the actor name Donald Glover. Just recently, Göransson had also been nominated for an Emmy Award for the Star Wars television series, with his musical composition set to appear in Nolan’s highly-anticipated film Tenet.

What do you think? Have you seen this series? If not, do you plan to binge it sometime in the near future? What is the best musical score on film and/or television? Let us know!
