Today, The Illuminerdi released an exclusive report that Marvel’s elite superhero team The Illuminati, will be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the near future. According to a cast listing, Kevin Feige is the sole name listed currently as the project ramps up into pre-production. There has yet to be any details regarding whether the project will be a Disney+ series, or a theatrical release.
The team is already partially set up in the current landscape of the MCU. Doctor Strange and Black Panther are the two, confirmed living characters in the post-Endgame landscape helped round out the super team. The most prolific team member from the comics, Iron Man, met his demise during the final act of the fourth Avengers film. With teases of Namor, and both Charles Xavier and Reed Richards now owned by Marvel, all characters pertaining to the superhero team (with the exception of Iron Man) can be established in the MCU. Other members of the team from comic iterations are Black Bolt, Mad Thinker, Thunderball, Black Ant, Titania, and Enchantress.
