According to a new report from The Illuminerdi, the rumors that circulated around this time last year of a Nova adaption in the works at Marvel Studios have been confirmed.
The future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s existence for Richard Rider, aka Nova, is currently unknown. Recalling the events of Avengers: Infinity War, we know that Xandar, the home of Nova and the Nova Corps, was destroyed while Thanos retrieved the Power Stone. It is possible the character will first appear in another franchise, such as Guardians of the Galaxy, though no official word has been given.
Nova was originally supposed to appear in the final battle of Avengers: Endgame, but was cut from the scene at some point because the creatives felt his appearance wouldn’t make much sense without his appearance in previous films.
At this point, The Illuminerdi could not confirm whether this project would be a Disney+ series or solo movie, though their source’s ” best bet is that it’s a movie in the MCU’s future slate for Phase 5 or later” (The Illuminerdi).
