The Cinema Spot has learned that an adaptation of TKO Studios’ Sentient comic-book is in the works.
The television series is currently set to be titled VAL. VAL is a reference to Valarie, a character from the comic. The synopsis of the comic-book is listed below:
When an attack kills the adults on a colony ship, the on-board A.I. VALARIE must help the ship’s children survive. But as they are pursued by dangerous forces through space, can VALARIE rise to the task and save these children?

The comic follows an A.I. named Valarie as she tries to keep to keep a group of children safe after they witnessed the deaths of their parents.
Sources close to the industry have told us that a group of producers have developed a pilot for the television project. This pilot has been shopped around to various television networks and streaming services. It’s currently unknown if the show has been picked up and/or by who, but we’ve heard that Netflix has taken a liking to the pilot and might have already picked it up.

A release date for the series is currently not set.
