With the entire nation quarantined, the masses have taken to Netflix to pass the time and attempt to break the monotony of life in quarantine. One series that has captivated audiences for weeks now is Tiger King: Murder, Mystery, and Mayhem, a documentary series that follows the eccentric Joe Exotic on a wild journey of tiger breeding and preservation, exotic animal zoo owners, and so much more. The outrageous, true story has drawn audiences in and taken over social media in the days following its release.

Now, it’s been revealed that a scripted adaption of this crazy tale is in the works. First teased by Rob Lowe on his Instagram account, Deadline confirmed that the former Parks and Rec and The Outsiders star will work alongside Glee creator Ryan Murphy to bring this story to life once more, with Lowe playing the Tiger King himself; Joe Exotic.

This comes after Kate McKinnon (Ghostbusters, Bombshell) was confirmed to portray Big Cat Rescue owner Carole Baskin in a limited series adaption, though it isn’t clear if the project has morphed into the same as Lowe’s. Baskin was featured heavily in the docuseries as an advocate for the abolishing of these exotic animal zoos, specifically zoos featuring large felines.

If you are in the minority who has yet to watch Tiger King on Netflix, you are seriously missing out. The story is a wild ride from start to finish, bringing to light quite a few atrocities that have seemingly slid under the radar. As someone who is not a fan of documentaries, I highly recommend this one.

Who would you like to see play other actors from Tiger King? Let us know in the comments below! And be sure to follow The Cinema Spot on Twitter (@TheCinemaSpot) and Instagram (@thecinemaspot_) to find out what happens with this off the walls adaption of an even more insane true story!
