Exciting news, X-Men fans! With the Disney-Fox merger happening, we thought that the already-filmed projects Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants would never make their way into theaters across the world. It seems we were wrong, as the former premiered last year.

Both films went through many delays and reshoots and while this is so, The New Mutants will be released in the original version that director Josh Boone had intended it to be: a horror coming-of-age film set in the X-Men universe.

Boone hit Instagram to promote the film, and a new trailer is to release early next week.

This is remarkable news now that he has control of how the film is made. Here’s to crossing our fingers that this will be what we’ve been anticipating.

The movie centers on a group of young adults confined in a secret facility as they learn about their newfound abilities and fighting their greatest fears.

The New Mutants is set to release in theaters on April 3rd of this year, 2020!
