HBO’s hit series based on Naughty Dog’s PlayStation franchise, The Last of Us, reveals a new wave of faces joining the cast for Season 2. Back in January, HBO shared via X the addition of several new cast members—Kaitlyn Dever as Abby Anderson, Young Mazino as Jesse, and Isabela Merced as Dina—, and today, fans were treated to four more to join Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay’s Joel Miller and Ellie, respectively. This time around, we are getting the names of some of Abby’s close friends from The Last of Us Part II.

Now we know who will play several of Abby’s fellow WLF members in Season 2, that is, who will play a significant role within Abby’s story. Dever’s Abby will be joined by Danny Ramirez (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Top Gun: Maverick), Ariela Barer (Runaways), Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Uncharted), and Spencer Lord (Riverdale). These actors will bring to life the roles of Manny, Mel, Nora, and Owen, respectively, in the upcoming new season.

Ramirez will play Manny, described as “a loyal soldier whose sunny outlook belies the pain of old wounds and a fear that he will fail his friends when they need him most.” Barer will play Mel, said to be “a young doctor whose commitment to saving lives is challenged by the realities of war and tribalism.”

Gabrielle has been cast as Nora, “a military medic struggling to come to terms with the sins of her past.” And Lord will appear as Owen, “a gentle soul trapped in a warrior’s body, condemned to fight an enemy he refuses to hate.”

The Last of Us Cast is Growing

Previously, it was announced that Merced, Mazino, and Dever would be joining the cast in Season 2. Recently, Catherine O’Hara was cast in an undisclosed role, which has left fans speculating who the Beetlejuice, Home Alone, and Schitt’s Creek star will play in the show. Fans are still eagerly awaiting the announcement of Yara and Lev, both of whom become an even more significant part of Abby’s story.

Beyond that, we know that the second game in The Last of Us franchise will be split into two seasons in the television adaptation. The second game is divided into two sides of the same story, being told from both Ellie’s and Abby’s perspectives, as it is a story of revenge and the aftermath of the gruesome cycle. Spoilers aside, Seasons 2 and 3 will be highly violent and heartbreaking compared to the series’ premiere season.
