Loki has performed exceptionally well for Disney+, and now the creator of the streaming series will be behind yet another Marvel Studios production. Deadline has shared that Loki series creator Michael Waldron will pin the upcoming Avengers: Kang Dynasty. Waldron is already attached to writing Avengers: Secret Wars, which will be the follow-up to Avengers: Kang Dynasty.

Waldron has been on quite a run after closing a multi-year megadeal with a combined overall with Marvel/20th Television for Waldron and his production company, Anomaly Pictures, across film and [television]. On the TV side, they currently have a full slate under wraps.

Waldron launched a new feature film and TV production company, Anomaly Pictures, with his producing partner Adam Fasullo. Waldron and Fasullo first met and became fast friends developing and setting up the critically acclaimed series ‘Heels‘ at Starz.

Background on Michael Waldron and Avengers: Kang Dynasty

The decision makes sense to assign Waldron as the lead writer for both films since he has proven to be a powerhouse for Marvel. The Community and Rick and Morty scribe created, wrote, and acted as the series showrunner for the first season of Loki. On top of that, he had also pinned Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Both Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are both hits for Marvel Studios. Seeing that the studio is trying to keep the hype around its films and series, it makes sense to hang on to its proven creatives.

In July of last year, Destin Daniel Cretton was announced as the director for Avengers: Kang Dynasty. However, it was then announced later this month that he departed the project as such. Both Avengers films are currently searching for new directorial figure(s).
