Those that know pink is for Wednesdays will enjoy the latest theater rumor. The musical stage adaptation of Mean Girls is speculated to expand to the West End in 2024. The musical is believed to hit the West End as early as the summer of 2024.
Mean Girls (2004) follows the story of Cady Heron (Lindsey Lohan), a teenage girl homeschooled in Africa her whole life. When she moves to an American high school, Cady navigates the intricate world of teenage cliques, encountering the popular but ruthless Plastics led by Regina George (Rachel McAdams). As Cady infiltrates the Plastics to take them down from the inside, she learns valuable lessons about friendship, identity, and the dangers of conforming to societal pressures. The film humorously delves into the complexities of high school life, highlighting the pitfalls of gossip, manipulation, and the quest for popularity, all while delivering memorable one-liners and showcasing the eventual empowerment of its characters.
Tina Fey, the creative force behind the original Mean Girls movie, played a significant role in the stage adaptation of the beloved story.
