According to a press release by 20th Century Studios Publicity, an untitled Hulu sister comedy film has begun principal photography. The upcoming project will be written by Jen D’Angelo (Hocus Pocus 2), with Jessica Yu (This is Us, The Morning Show) in the director’s chair.
Yu’s film will star Awkwafina and Sandra Oh in lead roles as sisters. Jason Schwartzman (The French Dispatch), Holland Taylor, Tony Hale (Arrested Development), and Will Ferrell will also star in the project. In addition, Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum (Booksmart), Maggie Haskins, Itay Reiss, D’Angelo, Awkwafina, and Oh will serve as producers; while Alex Brown and Erika Hampson are the executive producers.
The movie is undergoing production in Los Angeles and New Orleans and is set to wrap on July 22nd. It is set to premiere next year as a Hulu Original in the United States, as well as Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ via Star in other territories.

According to the 20th Century Studios press release, here is the synopsis for the project.
The comedy follows a brilliant but tightly wound, gameshow-obsessed young woman, Anne (Awkwafina) and her estranged, train-wreck of a sister Jenny (Oh), who must work together to help cover their mother’s gambling debts. When Anne’s beloved dog is kidnapped, they set out on a wild, cross-country trek to get the cash the only way they know how: by turning Anne into a bona-fide gameshow champion.
