Earlier today, we got a few updates on what to expect from Paramount+ in the UK, as well as some pretty big release date news!

In early April, Paramount+ announced some of the UK original series that have been planned ahead of the platform’s UK release in the summer. Although we had some title announcements, we were still awaiting dates. But the wait is finally over!!

The app will be available through a range of devices, such as Apple, Amazon, Google, Roku® and Samsung, with more platforms to be announced shortly.

If you’re a Sky subscriber, you will be able to add Paramount+ to your subscription, and for those of you who are Sky Cinema subscribers, Paramount+ is included at no extra cost!

What Can We Expect?

The UK launch of Paramout+ will include a whole host of content, from Paramount+ originals, franchise favourites, and content from Paramount’s brands and production studios. The app will launch with over 8,000 hours of fantastic content, so you’ll be sure to find something for everyone!

But, what exactly will we be getting? Well, let’s take a look at just some of the titles that will be available with the launch:

The launch will bring with it a collection of Paramount+ originals for everyone to get stuck into. These include, but are not limited to, titles such as HALO, 1883, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, The Offer, Mayor of Kingstown, Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber, The First Lady, The Man Who Fell to Earth, Queen of the Universe and Jerry & Marge Go Large. With this being just a taste of what’s available, we can be certain to see some fantastic content on the streaming service.

Paramount+ will also be the home to all things Star Trek, so whether you’re a Kirk or Picard kind of person, you’ll always be able to rewatch your favourites boldly go where no one has gone before.

Around The World

The launch of Paramount+ will also come with a lot of international content. Not only will we get some great Paramount+ originals from the UK, but we have a range of global offerings to get our hands on.

Some of the original scripted UK titles we’re already aware of including Sexy Beast, A Gentleman in Moscow, Flatshare, The Burning Girls, The Ex-Wife and The Blue. Along with these titles, we can expect content from all over the globe, such as the scripted originals Los Enviados (The Envoys) (Mexico), Cecilia (Mexico), Simon Beckett’s Chemistry of Death (Germany), The Signal (France), Bosé (Spain), Fallaci (Italy), At Midnight (Mexico) and much more.

Fun For Everyone

The content doesn’t stop there, as we’ll also be getting a slate of blockbuster movies such as Scream 5 and Grease, along with a range of documentary titles such as MH370: The Lost Flight, Girl Taken, and LA Hairdressers.

Paramount+ will be fun for all the family, and there will be a whole load of kid’s content available on the service. This will include Paramount+ Original series Fairly Odd Parents: Fairly Odder, iCarly S1 & S2, Rumble and Big Nate. They will join original TV movies, including Honour Society, Promposal, Little Wing, Snow Day, Nicole From Last Night and Blue’s Big City Adventure. Some of the kid’s blockbuster movies we can expect include PAW Patrol: The Movie and Clifford The Big Red Dog plus many more.

What Next?

Paramount+ will launch in the UK and Ireland on 22nd June 2022. The service will also launch in South Korea in June, with further launches planned in Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland and Austria in the second half of the year. From here, Paramount+ is set to launch in India in 2023.

For now, we can only wait for Paramount+ to arrive in the UK and Ireland. We already have a brilliant lineup announced for the launch, and we can be sure that there will be more to come soon. There will be some incredible titles available on the service once it’s available, and at such a low price, it’s sure to give some big competition to services that are already out there.

Keep an eye out on The Cinema Spot for more news as it comes in!
