Back in May, news surfaced that a fifth Scream film would be in the works with actors Courtney Cox, David Arquette, and possibly Neve Campbell to return; and just last month, Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega were added to the roster.

Earlier today, in an exclusive report by Variety –later confirmed by the actor himself, Jack Quaid will be joining the horror project in an undisclosed role.

The actor is the son of actor Dennis Quaid and actress Meg Ryan, and currently stars in both the hit Amazon Prime series The Boys as main male lead Hugh “Hughie” Campbell and the CBS All Access’s animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks as ensign Brad Boimler. Quaid can deliver quite a performance on-screen and has had his hands bloodied as Hughie Campbell, so here’s to hoping he kills if revealed to be the next Ghostface!

What do you think? Are you excited about this film? Are you a fan of the horror genre? Let us know! For more horror-, slasher-, and Scream-related news and reviews follow The Cinema Spot on Twitter (@TheCinemaSpot) and Instagram (@thecinemaspot_).
