A new, mysterious role has been reportedly revealed for Marvel Studios and Disney+’s highly-anticipated Hawkeye series. According to The Illuminerdi, who obtained a new casting sheet, the Marvel project is looking to cast a male for the role of “Arek”, though this is undoubtedly not the true name of the character. Arek is described as “20-30 years old, and of Eastern European background.” This character is also believed to be in five of the six episodes that will comprise Hawkeye.
But before we continue on and consider who this mystery character might be, let’s be clear in saying the chances of this being Victor Von Doom, a.k.a. Doctor Doom of the fictional, Eastern European country of Latveria, are extrememly small. In their report, The Illuminerdi suggest that the character may be Kazimierz Kazimierczak, a.k.a. The Clown. The Clown is a character introduced into the Hawkeye lure back in 2013, during the fantastic run of Matt Fraction and David Aja.
Kazimierczak is from Poland, moving to America after the death of his family, only to become an assassin, hired by Kingpin, and notably the Tracksuit Draculas, a gang stemming from Eastern Europe. Marvel casting for a small time assassin created in a comic book published a year after the world was introduced to the Avengers en masse makes the most sense.
