Disney fans and binge watchers alike sit with trembling anticipation as the echo of a promise rings in their ears. Rewatch your favorite Disney films, and join the countdown in the release of not one but all SIX episodes of Into the Unknown: Making Frozen II on June 26, 2020.

Claiming the title of top-grossing animated release of all time in 2019, Frozen completely set the bar for any film attempting to follow in its footsteps (McClintock). Frozen II and its team, despite controversial opinions, definitely did “the next right thing” as Frozen II pushed past both its sister film and Incredibles 2 generating a total of $1.325 billion at the global box office (Rubin).

We are extremely excited to see just how the “behind-the-scenes” team managed to pull this off. Like Olaf’s curious perspective on life, we are just as curious to learn Frozen II from the perspectives of the filmmakers, artists, songwriters, and voice actors alike (Lee). Like how angles lend a hand in creating the 3-dimensional world of films, learning a film’s insides-and-outs from its various handlers make for a deeper understanding and appreciation for the film.

A snippet of the synopsis forInto the Unknown: Making Frozen II:

“With the clock ticking and less than a year until the world premiere of Frozen 2, the filmmakers, artists, songwriters and cast open their doors to cameras for a six-part documentary series to reveal the hard work, heart, and collaboration it takes to create one of the most highly-anticipated films in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ near-century of moviemaking. For the first time, cameras were there to capture an eye-opening – and at times jaw-dropping – view of the challenges and the breakthroughs, the artistry, creativity and the complexity of creating the #1 animated feature of all time.”

Whatever opinion you hold on Frozen II, whether you thought the only redeeming quality were the animations and Olaf, or whether you found nostalgia in the reminiscent of a ’90s music video “Lost in the Woods”, there is one thing everyone can agree on: Into the Unknown has always had the power to give a case of goosebumps.

With a storyline of two sisters trying to find their place in their respective worlds, the shifting of their fates is something we can all relate to as this pandemic carries on. Let us be as curious as Olaf, as resourceful as Elsa, and as undaunted as Anna.

Echoing the sentiments of Anna in “Some Things Never Change”, we’re sure Disney will deliver once again with featuring the fusion of creative and technical aspects. Join us in uncovering the Unknown.
