Creed and Black Panther‘s Michael B. Jordan is in talks to star in New Regency’s film adaptation of Brendan I. Koerner’s novel The Skies Belong To Us: Love and Terror in the Golden Age of Hijacking.

The story follows Army veteran Roger Holder and his girlfriend Cathy Kerkow, who hijack a Western Airlines Flight in a protest against the war in Vietnam. Through a series of events, they fled across an ocean to Algeria with a ransom of half-a-million dollars, which brought them infamy around the world.

Jordan would play the leading role of Roger Holder. As for Cathy Kerkow, the studio is interested in Bombshell and Birds of Prey actress Margot Robbie for the role.

Master of Sex creator and writer Michelle Ashford was the first to adapt the screenplay for the project before American Hustle‘s David O. Russell came on board.

The film currently does not have a director attached nor is a filming date set. Furthermore, no distributor has picked up the film as of yet.
