Lionsgate has decided to move forward with a threequel to the hit Now You See Me franchise starring Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Woody Harrelson. Writer Eric Warren Singer (American Hustle) was tapped by the studio to write the screenplay. While the actors have yet to sign back up for another run through the realm of illusion and escape, Lionsgate is hopeful to reunite the cast for their latest trick.
While there has yet to be any detail of the story released, there is a multitude of directions the story could go. Lionsgate has said that Singer’s story will introduce new characters, continue building the world of the franchise, and bring all the fun and excitement from the previous films to the next film in the story.
Producers Bobby Cohen and Alex Kurtzman from Secret Hideout will return, while Jonathan Bayme of Theory 11 will act as a magic consultant for the project.
