Huge news for fans of Star Wars! In a report by Slash Film, legendary goddess actress of Sin City and the Netflix Marvel television series (Luke Cage, Daredevil, Iron Fist) Rosario Dawson has been hired to portray Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian Season 2.

The Padawan apprentice of the former Anakin Skywalker-turned Darth Vader previously appeared in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars film and television series, where she garnered popularity as a fan-favorite character, then Star Wars Rebels. She also appeared in a voice cameo at the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker a few months ago.

The Disney+ television web series will be her first physical live-action appearance. The Season 1 finale episode showed Giancarlo Esposito’s Moff Gideon wielding a Darksaber, so perhaps we may see him fight against Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano in the second season. Perhaps she will take the attention away from Baby Yoda.

Dave Filoni, who co-created the character, has been a writer, director, and executive producer for The Mandalorian. Neither he nor Lucasfilm has confirmed Dawson’s casting as of yet. The show’s second season is set to release on later this October with Filoni, Carl Weathers, and creator and showrunner Jon Favreau confirmed to direct some episodes.
