Excellent films cannot be nearly as great as their musical score. The James Bond films are no exception. Last summer, filmmaker Cary Joji Fukunaga’s upcoming film No Time to Die hired Dan Romer as its film composer. Fukunaga and Romer have previously collaborated on the short film Sleepwalking in the Rift (2012), the war film Beasts of No Nation (2015), and the Netflix miniseries Maniac (2018). However, this will not be the case with the upcoming film.

In a report by Variety, Romer has let go due to “creative differences” by Eon Productions, the British film production company that produces much of the James Bond films. Although, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Eon representatives have thus far not made any comments.

In Romer’s place, the film’s musical score will be taken over by Hans Zimmer. Zimmer has scored an extensive catalogue of films (from Rain Man to Thelma & Louise, to The Dark Knight trilogy, to last year’s The Lion King), winning several awards over the past few decades, even being nominated as far back as 1988. He, too, has not made any comments on his involvement in the James Bond film.

No Time to Die will be Daniel Craig’s fifth and final film portraying the fictional MI6 agent. He will be accompanied by a cast of remarkable actors and actresses including Ana de Armas, Rami Malek, Lea Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Wishaw, and more.

The film is set to release on April 2nd of this year in the United Kingdom and over a week later on April 10th in the United States.
