The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Marwan Kenzari is in negotiations to portray Jafar in Disney’s Aladdin live-action.
Nasim Pedrad is also joining the movie. She’s playing Mara, a new character that was created for this film. She’s Jasmine’s handmaid and friend. Her role is described as comedic support.
They’re both joining Mena Massoud, who will play Aladdin; Naomi Scott, who will portray Princess Jasmine and Will Smith, who will be the Genie.
Guy Ritchie is directing the film and the script was written by John August (Big Fish).
