Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things) and Henry Zaga (13 Reasons Why) are apparently in negotiations to join the X-Men family.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Heaton is in talks to play Sam Guthrie, a.k.a. Cannonball, whose power is basically the ability to launch himself into the air as if his flatulence were rocket fuel and according to Tracking Board , Henry Zaga will be joining the movie as Roberto da Costa, a.k.a Sunspot.
We’ll have to take this as a rumor for now, but it is worth noting that the casting hunt has already begun following Maisie Williams (Wolfsbane) and Anya-Taylor Joy (Magik) joining the movie.
Written by Boone and Knate Lee, New Mutants will be a coming of age movie. As the studio aims to put a fresh spin on the superhero genre, similar to how Logan riffed on westerns and Deadpool deconstructed the genre.
