In a run that has seen the show redeem itself for seasons past, the fifth season of Arrow has turned out to be one of the show’s best yet. That is due to, in part, the very compelling villain Prometheus, AKA, now former Star City DA, Adrian Chase. Much like the Green Arrow, Chase has been on a crusade of his own, albeit one that doesn’t necessarily involve a whole list of names. For him, there is only one – Oliver Queen.
Recent episodes have showed the potency of Chase and what he is capable of, not only showcasing his unhinged brutality, but also showing him establishing an iron-hold on Oliver, leaving him a mere shell of what he once was. But according to Executive Producer Wendy Mericle, the worst is yet to come for Mayor Queen.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Mericle spoke of Chase’s motives, saying:
“Chase has been trying to prove to the world and to Oliver that he’s not a hero, he’s a killer, and he’s going to pull out one final, big whamo at the end that’s going to leave Oliver reeling. We might lose some people…”
Featuring the return of several fan favorites, including Manu Bennett’s Deathstroke, Katrina Law’s Nyssa Al Ghul and Katie Kassidy as Black Siren, the final episode of the season, and the ones leading up to it, are sure to be a hell of a ride.
Arrow returns on Wednesday April 26th on The CW.
