Over the past couple of months, there have been many contenders to play Cable in the upcoming sequel of Deadpool such as Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe and David Harbour.
In the end, Josh Brolin emerged as a surprise winner. This will be his second time playing a Marvel role since he is playing Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and its sequel. According to THR, Brolin has a contract of four movies.
Deadpool 2 will be directed by David Letch and is expected to release sometime in 2018.
